30 in 30 Day 4

Well, today my friend Jane and I watched a DVD by the painter Lori Putnam in preparation for attending her workshop in March.  I love her paintings and was surprised by how much thought she put into value and color temperature decisions before she applied the paint. Her brush strokes are so full of energy one would think she paints like a madman.   At any rate, got a late start on my own painting today so I will continue working on this one tomorrow.  This is a scene from Patagonia State Park in Arizona where we were camped last year.  I loved the glow on the mountains in the background.
